LONDON FASHION
One of the main attractions of London is, without a doubt, London Fashion Week, pure fashion days that are repeated twice a year: in early autumn for the spring / summer collections and in early spring for the autumn collections /winter. That is why London has become a fashion and good dress icon, as well as a quality university education for future couture designers.
London is an exquisite and vibrant city where fashion is the order of the day. Therefore, no one should be surprised to discover the large number of courses related to textiles and haute couture that many universities offer.
Kingston University, for example, offers a Master in Fashion Journalism. Graduates can work as journalists for fashion events, such as London Fashion Week, design critics, professional bloggers, and writers of articles and books about the world of haute couture.
London College of Fashion offers an undergraduate degree in the same major: Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Journalism, although here the student has to choose between print or digital journalism and radio voice over.
Those interested in studying to become fashion designers per se can apply to the aforementioned London College of Fashion, which includes Jimmy Choo and Linda Bennet on its list of graduates, or the University of Westminster, recognized worldwide as one of the best in haute couture and textile studios, and that within the faculty have Christopher Bailey, CEO of Burberry.
London is the only point on the globe where a similar festival can take place. It is not a fashion show as an end-of-course project, no. It is a haute couture and design festival in which fashion design students from all over England participate and exhibit their works. This great festival, held every February on the premises of the Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, is a unique and excellent opportunity for future clothing designers, since it is there where they can establish business ties with renowned and great designers companies.
